Giving Back in Partnership with Upskills Foundation

“Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.” ~ Albert Einstein

A message from our CEO, Mr Rodney Frost.

Firstly, thank you all for your continued support. It is great to see you all getting so much out of the model and how it is truly optimising your own business. I’m loving talking to each and every one of you personally as it gives me exposure to industries I haven’t had exposure to before. Last week I was in Manila and we have locked down all of our site options to cover for growth as well as forming relationships with Universities and Tech schools to ensure we find you the best possible talent! One of the key pillars of our Mission Statement is to leave a legacy in The Philippines by educating children that can’t afford education and getting them out of the Homelessness cycle.

Grace and I met with Jane Walker from Upskills Foundation and we connected instantly. Jane has been working tirelessly for near on 20 years in Manila helping thousands of children with education and preparation for getting a job.

They run the Foundation very leanly with under 13% of revenue going to Administration Costs.

As you will see from images we went for a tour of the site in Tondo where some of the families live that we are trying to help.

These people live on Pagpag which will break anyone’s heart to see.

A sample of pagpag wherein children indulge themselves to satisfy their hunger.

The parents of the children make all of the Ring Pull (off soft drink cans) products. We are setting up an online store and marketing the products giving back all proceeds to the cause. Upskills receive 4 tonne of these ring pulls shipped and donated from the UK each year.

Samples of products that we are going to market on the online store.

We have secured funding in partnership with our supporters to set up a larger site in Tondo that will host around 250-300 children a day to learn the relevant programs in English, Maths, Living Skills, IT etc.

We will be working with the graduates from the facility for On-The-Job Training (OJT) and getting the people involved in applying for jobs when they are capable. Our dream will be to then employ the graduates from our educational facility.

We are always seeking support to see who can help these children? If you’re interested please do let myself or one of our team know.

We will honour your business onsite with signage and keep you updated each month.

You’ll be welcome to visit the site and also see all of the things you need for governance.

Together, we will turn these lives around and break the cycle.
